2023 F-150 Payload Capacity by Engine Type

Each engine type provides different cargo-hauling capabilities. The top powertrain for hauling comes from the 5.0L V8 engine, where you can carry up to 3,326 pounds of cargo in the bed and the cabin. The 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine is pretty close to the top number with 3,250 pounds of cargo.

The 2.7L EcoBoost V6 can handle up to 2,480 pounds of cargo. The hybrid 3.5L V-6 maxes out at 2,120 pounds. The hauling capacity falls to 1,965 pounds with the standard 3.3L V-6 on the smallest engines. The two largest engines in terms of output both get up to 1,400 pounds of cargo-hauling capacity, but their towing numbers are higher.
